Leadership.

    Lead Pastors

As the leadership of South Oaks Community Church, we want you to experience all that God has for you. This means getting set free from the pain and brokenness that holds you back, being filled with the Holy Spirit, and developing your gifts and abilities. We want to see you living in that freedom too. We have both experienced God's freedom in our own lives through the power of Jesus Christ. Leadership development, life development, and Bible teaching are key parts of our ministries.

Pastor Cindy:  I made a decision to follow Jesus Christ at 18 years of age, but did not experience freedom from generational issues until I was married with children. I was filled with the Holy Spirit and later went through the Elijah House program. I have been in ministry for 25 years. I am an ordained minister with the Assemblies of God. The most fulfilling thing for me is to see people set free from the hindrances of the past that keep them from experiencing the life God has for them. Ministering to people to help them be set free and follow Jesus Christ is the foundation of our church.

Steve: I became a follower of Jesus Christ when I was 12, but didn’t come into a full understanding of my faith until many years later as an adult. My professional life in the marketplace included leading diverse teams, in the US and Europe for a Fortune 100 company. Along my journey, I was introduced to the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. For me, that was a game changer. It gave me the power to actually live out my faith daily in the workplace. My heart is to see people grow in their faith, to learn how to apply their faith to everyday situations and decisions.

    Associate Pastor

I am originally from the Caribbean island of Haiti. I was born out of wedlock and raised by my grandparents. Due the absence of my immediate family, I struggled with insecurity, low self-esteem, anger, and bitterness. I accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior in my young adult years. My life took a drastic turn from darkness into light, with a passion to reach others with that message too.

God provided a way for me to come to the US on a scholarship where I obtained a college education. In the following years, I earned a Master's Degree in leadership, a Certificate in Addiction Counseling, and a Master's Degree in Counseling Services. For over two decades, I have worked in the helping profession, first as a Drug and Alcohol Counselor, then in the past few years, as a dually-licensed psychotherapist. I am deeply passionate about my calling personally and professionally. My goal is for people to see Christ in everything I do, to help them discover their purpose in life.
