PASTOR Cindy Hendrick & Steve Hendrick
Lead Pastors
As the leadership of South Oaks Community Church, we want you to experience all that God has for you. This means getting set free from the pain and brokenness that holds you back, being filled with the Holy Spirit, and developing your gifts and abilities. We want to see you living in that freedom too. We have both experienced God's freedom in our own lives through the power of Jesus Christ. Leadership development, life development, and Bible teaching are key parts of our ministries.
Pastor Cindy: I made a decision to follow Jesus Christ at 18 years of age, but did not experience freedom from generational issues until I was married with children. I was filled with the Holy Spirit and later went through the Elijah House program. I have been in ministry for 20 years. The most fulfilling thing for me is to see people set free from the hindrances of the past that keep them from experiencing freedom in Christ. Ministering to people to help them be set free and following Jesus Christ is the foundation of our church.
Steve: I became a follower of Jesus Christ when I was 12, but didn’t come into a full understanding of my faith until many years later as an adult. My professional life in the marketplace included leading diverse teams, in the US and Europe for a Fortune 100 company. Along my journey, I was introduced to the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. For me, that was a game changer. It gave me the power to actually live out my faith daily in the workplace. My heart is to see people grow in their faith, to learn how to apply their faith to everyday situations and decisions.

Associate Pastor
I am originally from the Caribbean island of Haiti. I was born into a dysfunctional family, so I spent all my early childhood with my grandparents. Due the absence of my immediate family, I struggled with insecurity, low self-esteem, anger, and bitterness. I accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior in my young adult years. My life took a drastic turn from darkness into light, with a passion to reach others with that message too.
After coming to the US, I earned a bachelor in cross-cultural studies at Bethany College of Missions and a master’s in ministry leadership at Crown College, a Certificate in Addiction Counseling at Metropolitan College, and a master’s in Counseling & Psychological Services at Saint Mary University. For the past decade, I worked as a licensed Drug and Alcohol Counselor for a decade and currently I am a Licensed Psychotherapist at. I am deeply passionate to follow Jesus Christ in everything I do, and to see people discover their purpose in life.
