Our beliefs and values.

A Christ-centered community, based on the Bible.

The Mission.

At South Oaks Church, we want everyone to become all that God created them to be. Our mission is to see people come to know Jesus Christ as their Savior, to be set free of the hindrances of the past, to be filled with the Holy Spirit, and become the people God created them to be.

There are opportunities for this to become true for you. We are like a healthy family here. People here care about each other. We encourage each other, pray for each other and help each other.

Our Beliefs.

The Bible.

We believe the Bible is God's Word. It is accurate, authoritative and applicable to our everyday lives.

God.

We believe in one eternal God who is the Creator of all things. He exists in three Persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. He is totally loving and completely holy. The Lord Jesus Christ is both God and man and is the only one who can reconcile us to God. Each time we take communion, we remember Jesus lived a sinless and exemplary life, died on the cross in our place, and rose again to prove His victory and empower us for life.

The Human Condition.

We believe sin has separated each of us from God and His purposes for our lives. In order to receive forgiveness we must repent of our sins, believe in Jesus Christ and submit to His will for our lives. God wants to heal and transform us so that we can live healthy lives, and to be able to help others more effectively. In order to live the holy and power-filled lives God intends for us, we need to be baptized in water, set free from influences of the enemy, filled with the power and gifting of the Holy Spirit, and be surrendered to God and His purposes for us.

The Church.

We believe God has equipped us as His living body, so that we can successfully achieve His purpose for our lives, which is to worship God, be equipped and empowered to do His will in our lives, and share the good news with those around us. We believe that the baptism (filling) of the Holy Spirit, with the gifts of the Spirit, are for believers to be able to follow Jesus and to reach those around them for God. We believe in the freedom of worship with every form of expression being done in decency and in order, following the anointing of the Holy Spirit.

Eternal Destiny.

We believe the Lord Jesus Christ is coming back again as He promised and will rule and reign on this earth. History will conclude as the wicked are judged and the righteous enter a new heaven and a new earth.

Core Values.

Connection.

We are a church that values Connection Groups; actual connection and fellowship happens in small groups and social events during the month.

Discipling/Mentoring.

There is relevant and God-inspired teaching from the Bible; messages that help you live your life during the week, using the Bible as a practical guide. We want to help people get set free of the hindrances of their lives; then be healed, trained and equipped in using their gifts and abilities, as mature followers of Jesus Christ.

Serving.

With opportunities to use your abilities and gifts here at South Oaks, there is a place for you. We encourage everyone to be part of what happens on Sunday and during the week.

Missions.

We are both locally and globally missions-minded; impacting the community and world around us through local and global projects, and through outreach. As part of the church, you can make a difference.

Worship.

Inspiring contemporary worship - not a performance, but an experience of praise, prayer and worship. There are also hymns and contemporary choruses in our worship each week. Another part of our worship is living our lives in a way that shows our commitment to Jesus Christ.

Learn through community.

The best way to really know and understand what South Oaks is like is to be involved in one of our Connection Groups. Join a Connection Group, Bible Study or ministry group, and begin connecting with others with your same heart and passion.
